“Punch it.”
Nightfall is a feature film prologue to the journey of Halo 5: Guardians, a video game released for Xbox One. Interwoven within the narrative of the feature are a handful of short films that round out historical lore, characters, and world-shaping events.
I worked in collaboration with creative director Dan Chosich at 343 Industries to conceptualize, design, art direct, and animate the fictional user interface throughout the films. This was by far my favorite project of the year, and a herculean endeavor executed in record time by a small scrappy design team. It was an enormous pleasure and humbling experience to work on one of my favorite video game titles of all time.
